Singapore’s first furry convention, organized as an informal, community-focused gathering. Two editions are documented: November 2015 and November 2016; although the series was described as annual, no later edition was verified. FurryLah’s inaugural convention took place on November 28, 2015 at Bayview Hotel in Singapore. The informal gathering welcomed local and regional attendees and featured a main stage, Dealers’ Den, hangout areas, introductory and art panels, and fursuit games. SGFurs’ contemporary report describes a one-day event; WikiFur lists November 28–29, so the date here follows the contemporaneous report. FurryLah’s second convention ran November 25–27, 2016 at Quarters Hostel in Singapore’s Boat Quay district. The informal weekend included opening and icebreaker activities, a Saturday fursuit walk along the Singapore River to Merlion Park, introductory and art panels, fursuiting guidance, games and group meals. Attendance snapshots differ: SGFurs reports about 25 attendees at peak, while WikiFur lists 17 attendees from Singapore and neighboring countries; the sources do not explain the difference. No FurryLah convention was held in 2017. In May 2017, SGFurs reported that the organizing crew was taking a one-year break: the 2016 venue had been too small, and Bay View Hotel, where organizers hoped to return, was still under renovation and could not host the convention in time. This record documents the announced hiatus; no event dates or venue are assigned. Source: https://sgfurs.com/conventions/furrylah-crew-will-taking-break-2017/.
A 2018 FurryLah return was announced after the convention’s 2017 hiatus, but no convention took place. The available retrospective records the planned return and states that it did not happen; FurryLah was later discontinued. No event date or venue is claimed.
